Have you found your perfect school, but are unsure how to get there? 1. Let Your Interests Shine – Don’t be shy to tell the scholarship committee about all the great things you have done. Share your interests, aspirations, and what makes you unique. 2. Use Your Resource s – Use scholarship search engines and your advisers (especially once you get to Purdue!) to find out about new scholarship opportunities. Find more information here ! 3. Be Persistent – Many students stop applying for scholarships once they start college, but there are so many opportunities once you get to Purdue to help fund your studies! 4. Apply Anyway – Some scholarships have fairly specific qualifications. Take these as items of interest, not requirements. An applicant needn’t meet all the criteria to be considered a strong candidate for a scholarship. The scholarship process can seem daunting, but the hard work is worth it when you are given the opportunity to attend college and pursue a degree you love.

College can seem like a daunting transition from high school, but we’re here to help you come prepared. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing advice on what to expect and how to succeed in First Year Engineering (FYE).  In the meantime, here are a few tips and resources to get you started! 1.        What courses will I take? All FYE students follow the same plan of study (great for forming study groups!) Courses include engineering, math, chemistry, and communications.
